Planning for a pre Cit-in Tour from Victoria was initially undertaken by Alan and Richard Simpson. However, unfortunately, Alan and Richard are now not going to be able to go to Cit-in and planning and leadership of the Tour was taken over by Ted and Helen Cross and has now been completed. Full details for this Tour follow.
Notes and comments from the Tour organisers.
For those folk who would like to have a bit of fun and enjoyment before Cit-in 2025, we are inviting you to join us on a Pre Cit-in Tour, to be held over 10 days and 9 nights. We will be starting out from Melbourne on Wednesday the 23rd of April 2025 and finishing up at Maryborough on Friday the 2nd of May 2025.
Each day is planned to be doing some interesting things and seeing new places, as well as cementing friendships over shared morning tea and lunch, and pre-dinner drinks and dinners each evening.
There is no actual cost involved to be part of the group, but some extra excursions along the way will attract a modest amount of money.
People going to Cit-in from places other than Victoria are most welcome to join us at any point along our Tour route.
We are suggesting accommodation at our stops along the way, but you are welcome to make your own choices and arrangements.
We are generally staying in caravan parks with cabins, or camping, with motels and country pubs an option in most places.
You will need to book your own accommodation. We have advised the suggested accommodation places that people on a Citroën car group tour may make contact to book. So, when making a booking mention that you are part of this group.
At the time of writing, accommodation was available at the suggested venues.
To ensure that you get the accommodation you require, we strongly suggest that you book it ASAP.
If you are interested in being part of the tour group, please contact the organising crew ASAP, preferably by email – phone calls as a last resort.
Please let us know by return e-mail (e-mail address at the end of these notes) whereabouts you intend to join the group, how many people will be in your party, the names of the people in your party, and if you plan to stay at inside accommodation (cabins, motels etc.), or if you will be bringing a caravan, campervan, or tent camping (or a mixture of these options).
If you decide to travel separately or go your own way at any stage, that is fine, but please let at least one of the organisers know so that we are not worrying about someone’s car breaking down, or someone getting lost.
Please note – we do not need/intend to travel in one long convoy – too slow and potentially dangerous – but we hope to meet up for morning tea, lunch stops and pre-dinner drinks and shared evening meals. Our route will be in a generally northerly direction and some main highway driving will be unavoidable; however, we will travel along alternate, less trafficked, roads to avoid the major highways wherever reasonable and possible.
Once we have an idea of who will be travelling with us, there may well be some follow-up e-mails with more detailed information.
