October is the month for the Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be combined with the Club’s general meeting for the month.
The Club’s financial and other annual reports for the 2023/24 year were published in the most recent, September 2024, edition of the combined Clubs’ magazine. They are also published again in the AGM notice document, which can be accessed through the link below. Members should read these reports for an oversight of what has occurred in the Club over the 2023/24 year and so that they can vote on their acceptance, and, if they wish to, raise any matter relating to a report, at the AGM.
One most important function of the AGM is the election of office bearers and general committee members to take responsibility, on behalf of members, for the functioning of the Club over the next 12 months. In the AGM notice document it will be seen that, with the exception of the secretary, all current office bearers and general committee members are offering themselves for re-election. The Club’s most pressing need is, therefore, for someone to put their hand up to be secretary, but nominations for any and all positions are encouraged and will be welcomed. A form to nominate for a position is included in the AGM notice document.
It is vitally important that as many members as possible attend, as for the AGM to proceed to conclusion we must, by law, have a quorum. So, members are urged to attend, but if they are not able to, to assist in ensuring a quorum they should complete and lodge a proxy form. A proxy form is included in the AGM notice document.

Following conclusion of the AGM the evening will be a social event with the Club providing a barbecue dinner. Tea and coffee will be available, but bring your own favorite “tipple” to enjoy with your dinner and fellow Club members.
